Delay Pedals

Looks like I left the delay pedal on with feedback set to full, I don't think 'Music For Snowplows' is quite going to be ready by the 31st. Here at High 45s we reckon a more realistic forecast is the middle of April. Never mind eh. There's been plenty of new stuff put on the myspace mind:

'Left Out In The Rain' is a work in progress, live version of one of the tunes off 'Autumn Rhythms'.

'Girl From The Blackstuff part 2' is from a nice jam we had earlier in the week.

'Who's The Spider' is another reworked jam, this time we did vocal overdubs and everything.

'Returning Crosses' is a newer recording that's a little bit shorter than the old one and with a bit of a better guitar take.

Power Of Midnight Returns!

I lost the video code for this off the myspace when sprucing up the layout, so I've moved it here. Video kindly filmed, edited and produced by Ade Jackson. You can see more of his work here.

Improvisation For the Nation

OK, volume two of the Tripping Forecast's free improvisations is being mixed as I type and will hopefully be ready for release on the 31st of March. Titled 'Music For Snowplows', it contains some of our best music yet, both strange and melodic.

I thought I might explain some of the reasoning behind these free albums. We have always enjoyed the fleeting moments of creation in which music is made, in spontaneous moments. This music that is fleeting and magical, that is made without preconception or prejudice, and usually lost to the ether of Dale Street, can now be captured. A fair few of the songs have been reworked since the recordings - from 'Autumn Rhythms', Who's The Spider? and Left Out In The Rain have become mainstays of our set, and we've also been working on Raspberry, retitled When you Call to which lyrics have been added. Hopefully some of these re-recordings will appear on myspace and soundclick within the next fortnight or so.

Volume one was recorded September - December, January-March makes up the second volume, and hopefully this trend will continue until we have a full twelve months logged, so expect one every three months. These recordings are a document of both our progress as a band and our capabilities as producers, composers and musicians.

Here for free download, the first fruits of our labours. Autumn Rhythms was recorded September to December 2008 in Liverpool. All lyrics and music are entirely improvised, no overdubs were added after the fact.
